Former Medicap Pharmacy is First Medical Marijuana Dispensary in Farmington
Dan and Alex Freund had known for a long time that medical marijuana could help residents of Farmington, Missouri get relief. That’s why they applied for a license as soon as the opportunity opened up after the November 2018 vote to legalize.
Since then, they have been working tirelessly to convert a community staple, Medicap Pharmacy, to a therapeutic cannabis dispensary called The Valley. Now, they are the first medical marijuana dispensary to open their doors in Farmington.
A Community Approach to Medical Marijuana in Farmington
Dan Freund told Daily Journal, “There was supposed to be three that come to Farmington. [ … ] We were the only truly local one. The other two were huge conglomerates, multi-state operators.”
The Valley is owned and managed by the Freund family. Dan and Alex are father and son. Medicap Pharmacy has been a trusted source of medicine and compassionate pharmacy care for years, and the Freunds are proud to be able to provide this new service to Farmington.
Right now, inventory is limited due to strict state regulations, but they are working on bringing a greater number of options to The Valley in the near future. They had a soft opening in early February, and they plan to have a full grand opening soon.
